Founder case study · Vivid Resume

Build for the job in front of someone—not the average résumé.

How a broad AI résumé idea became a focused product built around a target role, a person’s actual experience, and application materials they can stand behind.

The product problem

Generic output is easy. Useful, defensible output is harder.

Job seekers do not need another document that sounds polished but interchangeable. They need to connect their real experience to a specific opportunity without inventing evidence or flattening what makes them credible.

USER NEED

Understand the target

The job description is not decoration. It changes what matters, what evidence should lead, and which gaps need attention.

TRUST NEED

Stay grounded in truth

AI should help express a person’s experience—not manufacture achievements they cannot defend in an interview.

Product direction

The job became the organizing object.

Instead of starting with a blank résumé template, the experience starts with the opportunity. That decision gives the product a clearer purpose and creates a consistent basis for tailoring, reviewing, and improving the output.

01

Capture real evidence

Start with the person’s history, strengths, and concrete achievements rather than generic generated prose.

02

Read the opportunity

Identify the capabilities, language, and outcomes that the target role genuinely emphasizes.

03

Create and review

Generate tailored materials, then keep the user in control of edits, claims, tone, and final judgment.

The product made tangible
Target role

Senior Product Manager

Translate the job into priorities. Connect those priorities to evidence. Give the user a document they can inspect and own.

The core experience

A visible path from opportunity to evidence.

The interface work focused on keeping a complex AI workflow understandable: what information is being used, what the model is producing, and where the user needs to exercise judgment.

  • Job-aware recommendations rather than one generic output
  • Structured experience capture before generation
  • Editable application materials with user review
  • A product flow built to reduce blank-page friction
What founder delivery changed

Every shortcut became a product decision.

Directing AI accelerated implementation, but it did not remove responsibility for the outcome. Scope, reliability, edge cases, privacy, payments, and the quality of generated content still required explicit standards and repeated review.

QUALITY

Evaluate the result, not the demo

A successful request is not enough. The output must be accurate, relevant, editable, and useful in the user’s real workflow.

SCOPE

Keep the release coherent

More generated features do not automatically create more value. Each addition has to strengthen the primary job-search journey.

DIRECTION

Separate intent from execution

Clear requirements, review gates, and root-cause thinking became the operating system later documented in the Auteur Framework.

Evidence available today

A real product creates better questions.

Vivid Resume is live and usable. That is meaningful proof of product direction and end-to-end delivery. It is not presented here as proof of outcomes that have not been independently established.

  • Users can access the live product at imvivid.com
  • The core journey connects a target role to tailored materials
  • The work produced a repeatable operating method for directing AI delivery
  • Future claims will be added only when supported by reliable product or customer evidence
Your opportunity

Make the hard product decision before committing the build.

Five focused days can turn competing assumptions into a clear first release and a prototype your team can react to.
